La Bastide de Domme

Our next painting excursion was farther afield to the walled medieval city of Domme. Long thought to be impregnable due to its location at the top of a cliff, and protected on the other side by the river, it was finally breached and overtaken. Today the only invaders are tourists!

It rained on and off all day, but Frank and I had a lovely time wandering on our own, sampling the local fare, catching glimpses of our fellow artists, and making a few quick pastel sketches between the rain showers.
